Found, Not Chosen
Materials arrive as scrap — fencing wire, offcut timber, discarded cloth. The work starts by listening to them.

A rotating selection of available originals and editions, straight from the studio floor.
Every piece begins with what's found — wire, timber, paper, paint — and ends where it must: at feeling. I work until the material stops being scrap and starts being human. What remains is a record of that argument, kept honest in wire and ink.
Christopher Larry
Working from a studio in Cape Town, Christopher builds sculptures, paintings and assemblages from salvaged materials — exploring the shared human experience of emotion and connection.
More About the ArtistScrap becomes structure; structure becomes feeling.
Materials arrive as scrap — fencing wire, offcut timber, discarded cloth. The work starts by listening to them.
Armatures are twisted, bound and re-bound until the structure can hold an emotion without collapsing.
Paint, newsprint and printed matter are collaged into skins that record every decision — added, torn back, added again.
Each piece is a study of the shared human experience — labour, grief, tenderness, hope — left visible in the material.
No sketches are sacred and nothing is precious. The material decides — the artist just keeps up.
Four bodies of work — from standing sculpture to works on paper.
“I am interested in the moment a material stops being scrap and starts being a feeling.”
